Farm maintenance and development update

Recent farm maintenance and development initiatives have been carried out across the Pakarae and Whangara blocks. Maintenance includes, $60,000 worth of weed spraying, 50 kilometres of new fencing put in place alongside sheep and cattle yard upgrades, $139,000 worth of building repair on all buildings and farm houses ,and applications of Superphosphate and capital fertilisers. Investment has also been made towards farm development with stage one completed of the five year reticulated and troughed water system. 25 kilometres of fencing including a major laneway between Whangara B5 and Pakarae has been completed and the pasture project, establishing 200 hectares of annual, biannual or perennial grasses, has begun.
